1st Place Winner of Westwood Game Competition.

Spook Minds was a game that was made with Flash for the 3rd Annual Gathering of Video Game Legends and 5th Annual 2D Game Development Awards. It won first place and got great reviews from the judges: Voldi Way, Tommy Tallarico, Noah Dudley, and Cecil Kim . The game can be played at http://www.jessicayoungkim.com/ . The game revolved around Georgie and Mindy who were diagnosed with schizophrenia.

I made the folders and photograph of the characters for the selection screen. The game allowed players to choose Mindy or Georgie.

Spooky Mind Character Selection

I designed and created the Ghost Girl in Flash. She is innocent yet has a vicious bite.

When designing the puppet of the zombie in Flash it was very important to have a clear description of his attack and movements.

This Teddy Bear is ready to rumble. The level design was supposed to take place in the 1920's with a Chicago mob theme.

Here were some doodles and sketches of the Ghost Girl. I wanted to have a good idea of how she was going to attack before finishing her in Flash.

The first design for the ghost enemy. I decided not to go with this design and make a girl instead.

Here are sketches of the design process for my Western Zombie. I wanted him to look brute since he was a melee enemy.
2D Illustrations

Cute little piggy study done in Photoshop.

A confident yet calm cyclops waits for his next opponent.

This was a step in the process of creating the cyclops. I wanted to paint the value first then add color. This gave me the options to try out many different variations until I found one that worked.

Two samurai warriors find comfort in the snow storm. For them the snow represents peace amidst all the turmoil. They have fought many battles but today at this very moment they can take a break and enjoy life even in its harshest conditions. They are relieved and enjoy their time overlooking their campsite ever so peacefully. Soon, once the snow clears up - the true battle will begin.

This Panda is the heart breaker.

This Sci-Fi cyborg is is lethal and dark. He is equipped with powerful weapons to help him catch his prey.

Zoe is a highschool teenager from the future. My design was influenced by the 80s.

Digital speed painting in photoshop.

Illustration done with the concept of a Ninja Girl in mind. She is playful and fun, but isn't afraid to battle even the most fearful enemies.

I wanted to capture an 80's style female sitting on a couch without a worry or care about what people think of her. She is also a big Pac-Man fan.

Fan art of Cat Woman. I wanted to really capture her sensuality and seductiveness.

Tigress of the Jungle is a dark shaman type character that can talk to the spirits. She is very dark and mysterious.
